McDonald Hopkins is pleased to welcome Joseph Ledford and Jordan Lee to its nationally recognized Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group.

“Joe and Jordan are great additions to the firm and our national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice,” said Dominic Paluzzi, co-chair of the group. “They each bring valuable experience and unique perspectives, and I’m excited to see the value they’ll bring to our clients.”

Joe focuses his practice on incident response, regulatory investigations and defense, and data privacy compliance.

“I particularly enjoy how fast-paced data privacy is and how many issues of first impression there are in the field,” Joe said. “I find helping clients navigate complex problems involving unprecedented legal issues to be very rewarding.”

Before joining McDonald Hopkins, Joe worked in cybersecurity and data privacy consulting, where he led engagements involving end-to-end privacy transformation, technology transactions, regulatory investigations and compliance for Fortune Global 500 and Fortune China Tech 50 companies.

The firm’s reputation in the privacy and cybersecurity space was a key factor in Joe’s decision to join McDonald Hopkins.

“MH has a nationally recognized data privacy practice tackling sophisticated legal issues in cybersecurity and privacy, with a team that embodies Midwestern collegiality every step of the way,” he said.

Jordan’s practice focuses primarily on data privacy litigation, including data breach and website tracking litigation.

Before joining McDonald Hopkins, Jordan served as a judicial law clerk to a judge on the Court of Appeals of Indiana, where he researched and analyzed complex legal issues and prepared preliminary opinions. The experience gave him valuable insight into how courts approach and evaluate legal issues.

Earlier in his career, Jordan worked as a paralegal at an Indianapolis law firm, where he gained firsthand experience with the day-to-day operations of a legal practice and the importance of responsive, effective client service. He also served as a legal intern with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where he conducted legal research and supported litigation attorneys and investigators.

Jordan said he was drawn to McDonald Hopkins because of the firm’s client-focused approach and collaborative culture.

“I was drawn to the firm because it makes bringing value to its clients a genuine priority,” he said. “I was also impressed by the firm’s collaborative culture, its commitment to developing its attorneys and its reputation for taking on sophisticated legal work with a client-centered approach.”

Like Joe, Jordan is particularly interested in the rapidly evolving nature of data privacy law.

“Data privacy law is incredibly interesting because it is a rapidly changing area of law that often presents novel legal issues,” he said. “I am most excited to work alongside incredibly knowledgeable litigators with significant experience in the data privacy space. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute, learn, and grow my own practice in an environment surrounded by a team of accomplished litigators.”

Jordan is based in McDonald Hopkins’ Detroit office, while Joe is based in the firm’s Chicago office.
